Policies and Procedures

At Uptown Day Camp we are dedicated to giving our campers a summer filled with faith enrichment, fun activities to develop healthy relationships, and opportunities for academic development.  In addition to the three-buckets that inform our programming, every year we take precautions to ensure the health & safety of our campers.  Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have enhanced our current practices to follow the guidelines from the NC Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS), the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and the American Camp Association (ACA).  These guidelines include but are not limited to:

  • All campers will have their temperatures taken daily prior to exiting the car at drop off.

  • Campers will not be allowed to bring any personal items to camp with them this summer.  Children who need to bring their own lunches will be permitted to do so but all items must be packed in disposal containers.

  • There will be extensive cleaning and sanitations through out the day of all surfaces and equipment used.

  • Hand-washing has been built into the daily schedule as a required activity several times a day. In addition, hand-washing stations are being installed around the campus. Campers will be expected to wash their hands as they re-enter the building from any outdoor activity.

  • All campers will be provided with, and expected to wear, a cloth mask during indoor activities.

  • We will practice social distancing to the fullest extent possible.

All campers will be asked to sign a COVID-19 Agreement for Campers on the first day to show they understand the rules.  Please feel free to review this document HERE.  If you have any question or would like any additional information, please reference the Parent Information Packet or contact our Camp Director, Monica Pettiford, at
