I’m Paula Forte and I have been in full-time pastoral ministry for over 10 years and is honored to serve at Forest Hill Church as the Family Ministry Director for the NoDa Campus. Most people would be surprised to find out that I’m an avid WWE Fan and Wrestlemania is my Super Bowl of the year. My hope for the 2020 UDC year is that kids, students, parents, and camp staff would gather tools at camp that furthers their spiritual health all year long.

I'm Alyssa Petersen and I am so excited to be at Uptown Day Camp this year! In addition to camp, I am an ESL teacher with CMS. I love teaching and helping to open up a new world to my students! I relocated to Charlotte a year ago after living in Hanoi, Vietnam for 3 years! It was amazing, and the thing that I miss most is the food. My hope for camp this year is that we can serve as a bridge for campers to relearn their social and academic skills, as well as get to know Christ and all the amazing things that come with walking alongside HIm.

I am Ariel Gunn and I am honored to be the SLDP Coordinator this summer! For the academic year, I serve as a Career and Technical Education teacher at Garinger High, focusing on Business and Computer Coding courses. During my free time, I enjoy worship and being around the people I love. My prayer for the summer is that all campers experience the love of Christ in its richest capacity and go forth to carry it on in their everyday lives
My name is Lexie Quesada and I'm the Associate Family Ministry Director FHC NoDa. I am one of the storytellers at camp this year but will also be floating around helping however I can!
I love hanging with kiddos because I am a goofball and love to have fun!
My hope and prayer for camp is that we can provide an environment for the kids to truly experience the Lord, and have a blast while doing it!

My name is Inna Klimova, and I am a camp counselor at Uptown Day Camp. I am a full-time student at CPCC and serve my church, First Slavic Baptist Church, in the AWANA ministry, and Technology team. When I'm not studying or at church, I like to travel with my family, and go hiking in the North Carolina wilderness. My hope for this Uptown Day Camp year is for the kids to feel loved and understood by their peers and counselors, and for everyone to have fun!
My name is Donna Scott and I am a K/1 counselor for Uptown Day Camp. During the school year I work as an Instructional Assistant at Irwin Academic Center, where I have worked for 18 years. I enjoy shopping and spending time with my family and friends. My hope for camp this summer is that the children and staff are blessed with a memorable experience.

My name is Biannca Harrison-Walker. I serve at Uptown Day Camp as a counselor for rising 4th and 5th graders. During the rest of the year I am an Instructional Assistant at Irwin Academic Center, where I have been one for 20 years. In addition to enjoying my work with children, I love to cook. My hope for this summer is that our campers and staff family have a fun, spiritual and safe summer that will be a lasting memory
My name is Jocelin McDonald. I serve as a 4-5 counselor this summer. During the school year, I work as an instructional assistant at Irwin Academic center. I enjoy reading, shopping, and spending time with my family. I take pride in building relationships with children and watching them grow in their academics. My prayer for this summer is that I have an impact on our students, and help them learn skills that will carry them into the upcoming school year, and that we all stay safe.
I am Kimberly Weddington. I have the pleasure of working with grades 4-5 as a UDC Camp Counselor. During, the school year I am a Career Technical Education Educator at Ridge Road Middle School. A fun fact about me is that I love spending time with my boys and exploring different things. My hope for the camp is that the vision of the camp be fulfilled and the children will know that with Christ all things are possible!
I am Monica Pettiford and in addition to Uptown Day Camp, I am the producer for Porch Productions, a Charlotte, based production company which creates staged theatre for youth and young adults. I am proud to serve as the camp director for a third year. My role is to managing the staff, volunteers, and programming aspects of Forest Hill Church’s Uptown Day Camp. I love to travel, cook and attend musicals!My hope and prayer is that campers will find dynamic life in Christ, make new friends and have fun!
I'm a Tamika Crocker and on top of being the Camp Administrator I am also a CMS Teacher. This summer I will be communicating with families, and staff about the logistics for camp such as registrations , activity adjustments with both in person and virtual camps. I have an interest in shopping and making the best out of it by researching fantastic deals daily 🙂 ! My prayer is to inspire those who are around me in camp to always think positive and continue to self love themselves regardless of what others may think of them!
My name is Zion Sellers and I’ll be serving with Uptown Day Camp this summer as an Activities Coordinator making sure everything is ready for our campers to have a wonderful day! In addition to camp, I work at a soccer camp and intern for an accounting firm. I attend UNC Pembroke for college. In my spare time, I love to sing and play the piano. My prayer for this summer is that camp runs smoothly, the campers have lots of fun, but so do the counselors as well.
My name is Izzat Monroe & I will be serving with Uptown Day Camp as an activities coordinator. My job is to make sure everything is ready for the campers and staff to have a smooth running day. In addition to camp, I also work at Starbucks. I attend UNC Pembroke for college. In my spare time I sing, dance, and act as well as play basketball. My prayer for this summer is to build a strong, lasting connection with the campers and staff here at camp.
2nd - 3rd Grade Camp Counselors
Ms. Jessica is a Second/Third grade counselor at Uptown Day Camp. During the school year she teaches Middle Grades Language Arts for CMS and Sunday School at her church. Her favorite vacation spot is the beach and she loves roller coasters! She is looking forward to building meaningful relationships with the campers in her care as they enjoy a fun-filled summer.
I am Hannah Thiak and I get the pleasure of being a camp counselor with UDC for the 2-3rd grade campers. During the school year I attending UNCW where I’m studying to be a nurse. The most recent fun fact about me…last year I climbed 350 steps to get to the top of a volcano! I’m so excited to get lead my little campers over the next 7 weeks! Just getting to see how unique and special they all are will be a great joy.

Hello! My name is Chemise Parker and I am a K5 Teacher Assistant for CMS. I am a Substitute Camp Counselor For Uptown Day Camp this summer. I love attending and participating at Church..I played Basketball all through middle and high school. I am a DALLAS COWBOYS FAN!!!! I hope and pray to be a shining light to every child, parent and coworker I come in contact with. I pray each child enjoys wholesome Christian fun while being academically and spiritually enriched.
My name is Candice Dennehy. I’m approaching my 5th year as a pediatric occupational therapist. I’m excited to join the UDC team as a Floater- assisting with any behavior challenges that may arise, providing a safe break out space for campers, and supporting our staff in with any other tasks. In my free time, I like to do DIY projects, cuddle with my puppy, and cook. My prayer for camp this year is that we can make this a safe and welcoming place in the midst of the 2020 chaos and that we can model Christ’s love to each other and to our campers.

My name is Jamila Felder. I am the Virtual Camp Coordinator for Uptown Day Camp. I have a Master's of Education degree in Counseling and Development. My various "jobs" include numerous positions with the primary being the CEO of the Felder household which includes my husband and 6-year-old twins. I'm looking forward to helping our students become future leaders, as well as allowing them the opportunity to have an enjoyable experience. I hope to be able to continue working with UDC for years to come.
My name is Camille Pettiford and I serve as a junior counselor at Uptown Day Camp. This will be my third year volunteering with UDC. I have loved the bond Ive build with the staff and campers. I will be attending University of a North Carolina School of the Arts as a contemporary dance major and a rising junior. I love to dance, cook, read, and volunteer at my church. A fun fact about me is that I ran track for four years. I hope and pray that camp this summer stays safe while still being able having fun also that campers build relationships spiritually and with their peers.

My name is Cherish Williams and at Uptown Day Camp I serve as a junior counselor. I have the privilege of building relationships with campers while learning skills to use in the workplace. Outside of camp, I attend Merancus Middle College High School and dedicate my time to competitive gymnastics. I pray this summer I can help young campers grow a relationship with Christ while having a terrific time.
